This is a possible environment sketch. Made to feel like a cathedral, tall looming silhouettes, and hints some analogue tech thrown in for good measure to fit in with the idea of the base game concept.

A group of knights (that collect, and guard “ancient tech” find this long-abandoned cathedral, with what appears to be a research camp set up from a bygone era. As they snoop through the files it’s realized the tomes are describing a ritual. The knights proceed to go through with it and find that the ritual leads them to this broken/distorted timeline/astral plane where they end up trapped.
